Born August 28th 1934 in Pordenone, Italy. Berto was predeceased by his loving wife Santa Valeria and sister Elisa. He is survived by his three children Lino, Emanuela, Sophia and granddaughter Gracie.His brothers and sister in-laws Rino and Mariuchi, Narchizo and Jill, Battista and Mia and brother in-law Bruno.Also, many more relatives, nephews and nieces in Canada and Italy. Berto left Italy and finally settled into Tahsis 40 years ago. He was a loving and committed husband and father who continuously helped organize many of the town's annual events and dances. He lovingly helped in organizing and participated with the `Great Walk" since day one. Berto was a member of the Lions Club, created, elaborate Nativity scenes (presepii) for the local Catholic Church and annually played Santa on the Tahsis fire truck. Berto is most famous for his hand made stone by stone creations of the multitude of rock walls and peaceful rest spots found throughout Tahsis. He also made a lasting impression with his dancing as the town's Fred Aster. Through courage, love and determination, Berto experienced many adventures and lived a `rock' hard life.
